Contest Guidelines
Terms and Conditions:
  1. All contributing writers and photographers agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and the decisions of sinpets.com.
     
  2. Employees of sinpets.com are not eligible to participate.
     
  3. Winners must produce the necessary documents i.e. their identity card/work permit or passport when collecting their payment.
     
  4. Selection Criteria:

    4.1   Your pictures story (referred to as "story")  should be in English, Chinese and Japanese only.

    4.2   The story should have content related to pets only.

    4.3   All stories should show readers how to:  
             4.3.1  care for their pets, 
         4.3.2  solve pet health and training problems,   
         4.3.3  enhance the pet/owner relationship,
         4.3.4  succeed in the pet business such as breeding of dogs, pet shop operations. 
     
  5. If the story is posted from any other resources or reprints, references should be clearly mentioned.
     
  6. Each story will be closely reviewed for its genuine content by our judges.
     
  7. Our judges' decision will be final.
     
  8. No pornographic content will be allowed.
  9. In the event of any dispute, uncertainty or ambiguity relating to the terms and conditions or any matter relating to the publication of the story, the matter shall be resolved by sinpets.com in its absolute discretion.
     
  10. sinpets.com reserves the right to add, delete or amend the terms and conditions & prizes at its absolute discretion without prior notice at any time.
     
  11. The decision of sinpets.com will be final and no correspondence will be entertained.

The theme of this contest is "Be Kind To Pets".  

Winners will be selected for 3 categories:
Category 1. Primary School Students aged 7 - 12 years old.
Category 2. High School Students aged 13 - 20 years old.
Category 3. Undergraduate and post-graduate Students at training institutes, universities and polytechnics. 

Rules of Entry

* The "Be Kind To Pets" Photo Competition is open mainly to students in Singapore but overseas students are welcome to submit their pictures.

* Employees of sinpets.com and related companies are not eligible for this contest.

* Photographs can be entered by e-mail or by post. The entry form can be copied from this website into the e-mail. Attached files are NOT opened, unless you send us an e-mail notifying us that you are sending attached files as .jpg. 

* Pictures should be in jpg file format at an image size around  600 pixels in width, 600 pixels in height and around 500KB in size.  Each picture story has a maximum of 2 pictures.  Let us know if you have more pictures.

* Postal entries can be color print, black and white print, 35mm and medium format transparencies (No glass mounted slides) or a digital image on floppy disk or CD. Print sizes must not be larger than 12" x 8".  Postal entries will not be returned. 

 Select 2 pictures of your pets including exotic pets.  Let the pictures tell a story showing readers "How to Be Kind To Pets." An example of the picture story is at www.sinpets.com/red_eared_slider.htm. 

* Each entry must be accompanied by a fully completed entry form.  The ENTRY FORM is available below. Use the following by printing out or copying the entry form into the e-mail.

 Photo Release.
By uploading this photo for submission to the sinpets.com  Photo Gallery, I hereby grant sinpets.com permission to use the photo online and in other media publications electronic or otherwise.

Prizes.  The top 3 entries in each category in Singapore will receive $50.00 each. The top 100 entries will receive winning certificates from sinpets.com and be eligible for the best overall of 100 picture stories for young people in the Dec 2006 sinpets.com book.

No copyright, signature or dates are wanted in the pictures.  However, we may waive these requirements when necessary.

sinpets.com reserves the right to publish any winning entry in relation to the competition world wide.  While every care will be taken, sinpets.com is not responsible for photographs that are lost or damaged. The judges' decisions will be final. No correspondence may be entered into on the judges' decision.
